This policy explains what personal information Verde Hair Lounge collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We only ask for what we need to run the salon and look after you well.
Who we are
Verde Hair Lounge is a hair salon at 21a South Street, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 8NR. For anything to do with your information, you can reach us on 01823 587 925 or at verdehairlounge@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
Depending on how you get in touch with us, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address when you enquire or book.
- Appointment details, such as the service you want and your chosen time.
- Notes relevant to your hair, including colour history and any skin test results, so we can treat you safely.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, by email, by phone or on social media.
- Basic, anonymised information about how the website is used, if analytics is enabled.
We do not take or store card details on this website. Payment is taken in the salon, by card or cash.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, manage and confirm appointments, keep safe and accurate records of your treatments, and, where you have agreed to it, send you occasional updates or offers. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are your consent, our legitimate interest in running the salon, and, for treatment records, protecting your vital interests where safety is involved.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted services to run the salon, and your information may be processed by them on our behalf:
- Our online booking provider, Vagaro, which handles appointment bookings made through this website.
- Our enquiry and customer management tools, used to receive and respond to messages sent through the contact form.
- Website hosting and, where enabled, privacy-conscious analytics, advertising or social media platforms such as Google or Meta, used to run and measure the website and any campaigns.
Each of these has its own privacy policy. We may also share information where the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
The website may use cookies or similar technology to help it work properly and, where enabled, to understand how visitors use it so we can improve it. The booking widget and any embedded content may set their own cookies. You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it: to manage your appointments, meet our legal and insurance obligations, and keep treatment records that help us look after you safely. When it is no longer needed, we delete it securely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to correct anything that is wrong, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details above.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
